Baseball

The first baseball game on NES is an arcade-style take on the national pastime, complete with the ability to steer pitches over the plate. The action is viewed from above the diamond as managers lead one of six generic teams to victory in a nine-inning game against the computer or a friend. While in the batter's box, players simply press a button to swing as the ball crosses the plate. One button is also used to pitch, although players can influence the ball's speed and direction to an extent by moving the control pad during the release. The computer automatically handles fielding in the game, so players on defense only have to worry about making throws to one of the bases.
