Every console should have at least one pinball game, and Pinball was the first of several for the NES. While it's a rather uninspired effort, it does have some good aspects. The round, silver-gray ball moves around the playfield with a similar speed and motion as the ball in a real pinball machine, and the sound effects, although sparse, are sufficiently pinball-like. The graphics are plain but evocative of a real pinball machine, just not a very interesting one. The action takes place on two screens, and there are two sets of flippers. But all in all, generic is the word that best describes this aptly titled game -- based on the ordinariness of Pinball, it couldn't be called anything else.
