After losing their lead singer, Gordon "Nobby" Clark, the Bay City Rollers quickly rebounded and found Leslie McKeown was even boy bandier than ole' Nobby. They finally got a #1 song in the U.K. with a remake of the Four Seasons' "Bye Bye Baby." U.S. domination was next thanks to star-maker Clive Davis (who signed Barry Manilow, Aerosmith, and every other person who can write a song). If you missed them this time around, we hope you caught their 1978 TV series, The Bay City Rollers Show. Must See TV indeed!

Here's a GetBack Rerun of "Bye Bye Baby" performed on Japanese TV. Remember to brush your teeth afterwards.

Natty Dread

Natty Dread

Bob Marley

Natty Dread was the first album released as Bob Marley & The Wailers. The band's previous albums were released as the Wailers. Bob was clearly the star. Sorry, Peter Tosh.

It's perfect rebel music. It makes you remember there was a time when music was made to inspire change not just to make money. Know what I mean?

Stevie Wonder Just Wants to Get Along

Stevie Wonder Just Wants to Get Along

May 10, 1975. Stevie Wonder played the Human Kindness Day Concert in Washington, D.C. 100,000 people showed up to see Stevie and Graham Central Station sing about getting along with one another. It's been Stevie's mantra ever since he got signed to Motown: just a brother trying to remind his brothers to love one another.

Bruce Springsteen

Then: Releases landmark album Born To Run on August 25, 1975 — an album that saved his career and rock 'n roll. He made the cover of Newsweek; he made the cover of Time; he toured the world. Springsteen had made the big time.

Now
: Still plays concerts that feel more like church revivals (even if they're no longer four-plus hours long). The Big Man and Little Steven are still by his side, and songs like "Radio Nowhere" make you feel like there's hope for rock 'n' roll and all of us who swear by it.
