Even though this bootleg has been rendered obsolete by The Beatles Anthology, there are some precious tracks contained on this disc. The centerpiece of Back-Track Part Three is the inclusion of ten different takes of "Strawberry Fields Forever," which shed some insight into how the track was manipulated into its final, official version. Also worth the price of purchase is the full-length, six-minute version of the Rubber Soul-era instrumental "Twelve Bar Original," which contains some blistering guitar work by George Harrison that, for some inexplicable reason, was deleted from the truncated, two-minute version included on The Beatles Anthology 2. Also included is a previously unreleased track, "A Case of the Blues," which was a demo recorded by John Lennon. Overall, the sound quality is very good, but many of these tracks are better represented on The Beatles Anthology, especially "Not Guilty," "What's the New Mary Jane?" and the a cappella version of "Because." ~ Brian Flota, All Music Guide
