The Beatles

Using the same package design as the legitimate Beatles 1 CD, some anonymous but enterprising bootleggers have generated a comparable DVD, comprised of 38 video clips of the group's hits. The selection ranges from official promotional clips and broadcast performances to relevant concert sequences from filmed accounts of their work (including clips from Let It Be), plus excerpts from A Hard Day's Night. The sound and the full-screen images are both generally of excellent quality, and the whole disc opens up automatically to a simple menu. It's all enjoyable enough and also a good enough concept to make one wonder why no one seems to have thought of something like this -- or, at least, roughly along these lines -- as a legitimate release; it might be expensive, but it would sell. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
