Dude, What Happened to You? Former Hollywood Hunks Who've Let Themselves Go
We don't think it's a surprise to anyone that there's a double standard in Hollywood when it comes to looks and weight loss. Why is it that Jessica Simpson and Hilary Duff get creamed for putting on a few pounds while Russell Crowe and Tom Hanks get awards for it? Actresses very rarely get to use the excuse that they were "doing it for the role," since, typically, leading ladies must be a size 0 to even be considered for a part.
We want to be perfectly clear: we aren't judging any of these dudes. We totally get what happens to humans as we age. Weight sticks, skin sags, and no one looks 21 forever. We're simply pointing out that when the aging phenomenon happens to a woman, she gets kicked in the perfectly straight white teeth while guys seem to get off scot-free.
And so, without further adieu, we ask some of Hollywood's leading men: Dude, what happened to you?

Stars Who Got Their Start in Horror Movies
Young (Or Old) Again
This weekend Matthew Perry is "17 Again." Oh, right — no one really cares...
Chopergirl said "I have always loved her. She has been a very good part of entertainment - I remember when she was in Roots. AND then CHEERS, and then the talking babies with John Travolta. My gosh, we all have problems, and with those come stress eating at times...She is beautiful regardless of what she weighs, and not only physically beautiful, but also beautiful inside. She has had her heart broke just like the rest of us, and struggles like the rest of us....to bad people expect her to be perfect as that is what imperfect people like to see - someone perfect to make them feel better. Projecting their OWN disappointment onto others, in some sick way, makes them feel a little better. That is a terrible post about her. I will watch her show."
Sardonica said "How is she anymore a train wreck than ANY body else, celebrity or not? We all have our issues. She is at least trying to better herself, not trash those around her, or laugh at the misfortunes of others. You're as bad as Perez. YOU are the one that needs to get a life, not her. "
ratt said "Don't the people who read this crap have anything at all better to worry about? Is it REALLY any of your concern what this movie star or that musician is up to in their personal lives? Did any of you useless tabloid bottom feeding twats notice that I used the word PERSONAL? Not likely, because the people that read this stuff don't think anyone has a life that they can't have access to. A word for those who have nothing better to do than concern themselves about others in the spotlight... pathetic."
jesslisby said "rynn phillips needs to get over his self...he is the one whom made his own problems. mabye if he kept his pants on and didn't treat his wife at the time with such disregaurd, he might still have full custody of his children, and a wonderful wife..look what you traded down for. but bravo to reese...look who she traded up for."

Vince Vaughn is still cute in that older guy kinda way. I don't think there's anything wrong with these guys getting older. It's inevitable. It's unreal to hold them all to some crazy standard of perfection. At least they had it to begin with.

when were these pics taken when they didnt make a movie cause even as they get older they still look good in the movies they are in so what if they look out of it when they are not filming thier choice they know how to fix it when they need too as for the ladies I agree they get the 3rd degree if they gain wieht and they get the 3rd degree if they are too thin too so people make up your minds what the ladies need to do to make you happy I think they should be healthy and if that means they have some meat on their bones so be it you cant make every lady the same size cause that is just impossible even though they do try not everyone has the same bone structure you have to go by that and their height to figure out what is a healthy weight and that is what hollywood should be going by because our children are the impressive ones and they follows the stars in the weight catagory

Yeah and I saw Brosnan in Mamma Mia and he didn't look that bad, They can make photos look worse, and people tend to let themselves go while their on Holiday, That doesn't mean they look that way all the time.

Yeah, I agree that it's just natural aging in most pictures, nothing to be ashamed of at all. However, I must admit that I sigh a breath of relief since the focus is finally on MEN maintaining youth and beauty. Usually, women are the victims of such unrealistic expectations. The older women who usually depict beauty have invested so much in cosmetic surgery that the expectations are even more unrealistic and unprobative of natural beauty.

Well, like everything, the truth lies in the middle, and is better to go by a case by case basis. First , who they did not put in this list: Mel Gibson and Jack Nicholson. Why? because they AGED, yes, but gracefully, and they are old-old. ALL the actors in this list are NOT THAT OLD AND COULD LOOK BETTER. Who else is NOT on this list? George Clooney, Andy Garcia, Brad Pitt, Daniel Craig and Clive Owen. The five of them are roughly the same age as the guys in this list. Other guys like Ben Stiller look the same as they did roughly 10-15 years ago. Same for Luke Wilson, who did "Wedding Crashers" with Vince Vaugh, who has let himself go in less than 6 years. The guys on the list DO NOT LOOK OLD, THEY LOOK LIKE THE DONT CARE.Thats understandable, but it is NOT aging. THEY ARE YOUNG ENOUGH. Mel Gibson looks old, but not Fu&%ed up. Jack Nicholson looks both old AND Fu&%d up.

I agree with those against the writer/editor of this article. God forbid anyone aging and enjoying their lives! Let the writer post his/her picture now and let's do a "WTF Happened to You?" caption in about 20-30 years, huh?

I'm 56 and I am jazzier now than when I was in my twenties. I sure don't want some pretty boy airhead to spead my time with.
The low intellect of the writer of this sad little article, and the dimwittery of the editorial staff who believed this piece would have entertainment value, shows us that "new-grad" entertainment journalists just don't have the chops or the class to work in the industry.
I wish a pox of deep-crease wrinkles, inflated bellies, and early onset Alzheimer's on them all.

Guys - read the entire article before reaming the writer! It says that while most of these men are still cast in movies, a woman who ages in a similar fashion gets kicked to the curb. Its the old double standard. While I agree with your comments IF the article was knocking them because they were aging, I felt it neccessary to side with the writer of the article.
