Dude, What Happened to You? Former Hollywood Hunks Who've Let Themselves Go
We don't think it's a surprise to anyone that there's a double standard in Hollywood when it comes to looks and weight loss. Why is it that Jessica Simpson and Hilary Duff get creamed for putting on a few pounds while Russell Crowe and Tom Hanks get awards for it? Actresses very rarely get to use the excuse that they were "doing it for the role," since, typically, leading ladies must be a size 0 to even be considered for a part.
We want to be perfectly clear: we aren't judging any of these dudes. We totally get what happens to humans as we age. Weight sticks, skin sags, and no one looks 21 forever. We're simply pointing out that when the aging phenomenon happens to a woman, she gets kicked in the perfectly straight white teeth while guys seem to get off scot-free.
And so, without further adieu, we ask some of Hollywood's leading men: Dude, what happened to you?

Stars Who Got Their Start in Horror Movies
Young (Or Old) Again
This weekend Matthew Perry is "17 Again." Oh, right — no one really cares...
Sardonica said "How is she anymore a train wreck than ANY body else, celebrity or not? We all have our issues. She is at least trying to better herself, not trash those around her, or laugh at the misfortunes of others. You're as bad as Perez. YOU are the one that needs to get a life, not her. "
ratt said "Don't the people who read this crap have anything at all better to worry about? Is it REALLY any of your concern what this movie star or that musician is up to in their personal lives? Did any of you useless tabloid bottom feeding twats notice that I used the word PERSONAL? Not likely, because the people that read this stuff don't think anyone has a life that they can't have access to. A word for those who have nothing better to do than concern themselves about others in the spotlight... pathetic."
jesslisby said "rynn phillips needs to get over his self...he is the one whom made his own problems. mabye if he kept his pants on and didn't treat his wife at the time with such disregaurd, he might still have full custody of his children, and a wonderful wife..look what you traded down for. but bravo to reese...look who she traded up for."
jesslisby said "I think that larry is doing wonderful by dannielynn. he is not perfect or claiming to be. he tries to be the best dad to her and to give her everything that she needs. he is a wonderful man, and loving....so dannielynn will turn out to be the same way...good kuck in the future..."
jesslisby said "I personaly think that Sonny is better off with jesse and sandra.she has her father and another woman whom is not her mother to teach her to be a honest, compassionat and trustyworthy young lady. which her so called mother could not of ever taught her.her mother teaches her to lie and steal. What type of mother is that. if sunny was to stay with her mother, she would only learn to be a horrible person with no morals or values. is that what you would want for your child or yourself growing up. sunny is a child yes....but she knows tha jesse and sandra are trying to protect her and give her a good life. at least sandra cares about her and loves her..."

I think Tom Hanks looks just fine the way he is today. People age and mature and he looks great.

are you going to look at a picture of your father or grandfather from their earlier years and tell them they let themselves go? i should hope not. you have no right to criticize these men for getting older. it happens to everyone. and personally, i think vince vaugh looks much better, more manlier, now then he did when he was younger.

I'm pretty sure no one was meant to be as fit in their 50's as they did in there 20's (man or women.) Give them a break! Hormones have changed, metabolisms have slowed, a few punches to the face have been thrown, and life goes on!

one thing i have noticed has not been said is that all of the before pics are either movie shots or taken on the red carpet or such, and most of the after shots are taken without makeup, hair and clothes being provided and primped for hours. seriously take a look at your favorite actress with and without makeup and hair done you will see a huge diff. theres nothing wrong with these guys and on some i think they look better older.

I understand why the author of this article/piece is peeved at why men get praised for weight gain and women get criticized, but the examples he/she listed, Jessica Simpson & Hilary Duff, are way less talented then the two male actors she listed. Sometimes, you have to understand, that if all you have is looks and not much else, you have to keep up with that, but if you are talented in acting and rich as hell too, that can outshine the fact that you're not as "fit" as you used to be. Tom Hanks is a wonderful actor as well as Russell Crowe. And personally, I don't think Russell Crowe let himself go, he still looks good!
And I agree with B_PEACOCK, it does sound like the author just kind of pulled this one out of their you-know-where.

i wonder how many of these comments that are positive about the after pics would still be true if these were women ... i think that is the point of the article, though it is shallow, it is mocking...

How dare these people age!! I mean really, are you serious? Is aging a sin? What I think is a disgrace is these actors who attempt to fool their fans by "cutting" years off of their lives and only succeed in butchering their faces and becoming pathetic fodder for the media, on pages like this. You people have run out of real news. You are pointing a finger at people for aging how silly do you look? Grow up for God sakes!!!!

This maker of this "article" is an idiot - celebrities are people just like everyone else, and they get older just like everyone else. We need to stop focusing so much on the appearances of celebrities. I have noticed something, though - it seems like people are much more defensive of these male celebrities than they are of the females. I see many more articles about females celebrities who have gotten "fat" or "let themselves go", and the comments on those articles tend to agree. It seems like females are expected to remain fit and pretty until they die, while the standards for men are much more lax.
