I think the original article had to do with the fact that men are allowed to age naturally and still find meaningful roles in Hollywood, TV etc. Not true for women. They are forced to nip and tuck and chance ending up looking horrible- or find themselves ou of work and career mid-life.

I'm willing to bet the writer of this "article" is in his 20s. Good god, there are 25-30 years difference in some of these pictures. Only someone who hasn't lived will say Jeff Conway "let himself go", when all they did was age from 28 to 58. Gaining weight for a role, as Russell Crowe and Tom Hanks have, is also not "letting ones self go". What in Crowe's picture points to that assertion? Yes, John Travolta and Val Kilmer don't look anything like their 20-something selves, (Do you realize just how much time and effort Travolta put into looking like that???) but who amongst us does? I'm not in bad shape for a 51 year-old, but I'm not like I used to be. As for those who have nothing better to do in life than work out I tell you this; you're gonna die just like the rest of us, regardless of how much you can bench. Unless you're in a competitive activity you're most likely....mmmmm....compensating for some other "deficiancy".

Just because a celebrity gets older, doesn't mean they have to get fatter. Many older male celebrities do watch their weight and that's a good thing. The more fat you get, the more health problems you have especially the older you get.

It's not how you look, its how you feel. Age is the number that let's others know how much you have lived. I am 53 and have never looked better.

Russell Crowe, is the sexiest "old" man that I ever seen. Same for Pierce.
Not everybody age the same. Alcohol and smoking also play a role on the way you age.
The double standard in Hollywood should be the same for men or women. There SHOULD NOT BE a double standard.

hey, everybody, guess what! We are all headed that direction! It's call "aging"! The human body is built to last forever and sure, exercise and health eating will prolong youthfullness but will definately not deflect it! Some have better youthfulness genes than others, but we are all one day closer to death every morning we rise!

Tom Hank was never handsome; maybe cute, but there is no doubt how incredibly talented and gracious he is. He definately does not belong on this list. I have always wondered why Val let himself go...When "Top Gun" came out, I thought he was the hottest thing in the world...
Vince Vaughn is still hot (imo)-I have always liked him. And he is funny and tries to stay far away from the tabloids and media-Good for him!!

It's all about having pride in your self and not being lazy! Too much money in "Libwood" most of the time makes people lose site of reality. Eating/Drinking habits and forgetting the location of their gym makes them a fat ass. You know deep inside they are disgusted with themselves and miserable.I'm 49 and still have a very muscular build and wash board stomach because I make the choice to fight the fight everyday I get out of bed instead of settling.
