Generous Musicians
The lineup for this year's 23rd annual Bridge School Benefit (October 24 and 25 in Mountain View, California) is the latest lesson in big-hearted musical grooves. Chris Martin, No Doubt, Fleet Foxes and Monsters of Folk are among the class of '09 giving their time to the northern California school founded by Neil Young's wife, Pegi. Each year, the couple convince their friends and colleagues to play for the Bridge kids. Musicians like to give back. Here's our list of the most generous musicians around - stars who use their money and fame to fight the good fight for the long haul. Some give quite privately while others wage their philanthropic war in front of us all. Yes, it makes some of them insufferable at times, yet step past the cynicism and you'll find their work as inspiring as their songs. Plug these folks into your iPod when you're down at the soup kitchen.

She should never be allowed to have any custody of their daughter because the daughter will only get bounced back to Jesse and Sandra the next time she decides to mess with the IRS. Even a genius will testify that that is not very smart ... forget being a genious. It ain't nice ta mess wit da IRS!!'Nuff said!"

Well, I have found out that she is well and is still a hottie at 61. My God The Woman Looks Good! Her and Andie MacDowell have that Hair, that beautiful frizzy wonderful Hair! Go Girl"

What's the most important is that you don't have to be a millionaire, but you can meet one. BTW, Charlie Sheen found his true love on that site in 2007."

Everybody needs to know about the numbers of people infected with AIDS world wide and in Africa. They probably wouldn't pay attention if Anthony Fauci, the director of the NIH was telling them, but they would pay attention and more importanlty act, if Bono told them.
I'm living with HIV and on disability myself, and I can tell you Bono and U2 walk their talk. I know this because I was able to see them at Soldier Field in Chicago this month because I could actually afford the ticket!
I only paid $30 for a musically brilliant and visually stunning show. Those same seats for ANY other major band would have easily been $80+.
If I ever met Bono, or U2, I'd tell them I appreciate the fact that I love the song "The Unforgettable Fire" and that they allow people of limited financial means see them perform live.

Why does MJ come in fourth in your series? That is patent nonsense, both in terms of scale and in proportion to his income!

What about Jon Bon Jovi? look at everything he does and has done for charity. Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, and benefit concerts in NJ to help feed the homeless are just a few of examples.

No list of Most Generous Musicians is worth its salt if it does not include Harry Chapin.

These retards forgot the greatest contributor of all. ELVIS PRESLEY. Elvis (when he was living) gave to over 50 charitable organizations, as well as buying complete strangers cars and gifts. Not only that, and even in death, Elvis STILL gives more money to charities (Elvis Presely Enterprises). He gives much more than singers.groups who are alive. FACT.

Egomaniacal? Why would you be so judgmental of a person trying to better the world for anyone. If the grateful dead did (what you consider more) behind closed doors you have to consider what they did. You cant do what Bono is doing behind closed doors.

The Grateful Dead have privately contributed more than anyone on this entire list...but because they are not egomaniacal the world will never know. There is a difference between plastering your name upon a school, building, or bridge and anonymously funding the entire nation's soup kitchens for decades from behind the scenes...among countless other contributions. Case in point>>>they never even made your list. Embarrassing.

Too bad Planned Parenthood is a perpetrator of black genocide and has eugenic roots.
