10. "Combat!"
"Combat!" followed a troop of World War II American soldiers stationed in France. The series starred Vic Morrow, Rick Jason, and Pierre Jalbert. Many famous guest stars including Lee Marvin, Leonard Nimoy, and James Duvall costarred as German soldiers, French citizens, and other members of the squad.

"Combat!"s Pierre Jalbert was captain of the Canadian Olympic skiing team (1956 or 60), but never competed in teh Olympics as broke a leg just prior to the competition. Later in his career, as a film editor, he entered history, sort of, as the man responsible for the structure of the 'Baptism' scenes near the end of "The Godfather": it was Jalbert's idea to intercut the baptism with the killings.

I still watch re-runs of Andy Griffith. It's wholesome entertainment. I love the episode where Andy and Barney want to go to a dance, but they have to get Gomer to go with Thelma Lou's cousin. Gomer gets up in the middle of a conversation and leaves. Thelma Lou says she doesn't want to go to the dance, but her cousin insists. Gomer returns with a corsage for Thelma Lou's cousin.
