2. "Family Ties"
The NBC sitcom "Family Ties" was Reagan-era TV at its best. Columbus, Ohio ex-hippie parents Elyse and Steven Keaton (Meredith Baxter-Birney and Michael Gross) were raising three kids: Mallory (Justine Bateman), Jennifer ("Jen") (Tina Yothers), and conservative Republican son Alex P. Keaton (Michael J. Fox). Much of the comedy of the series centered around the social differences between Alex and his parents as Alex joins The Young Republicans, worships Ronald Reagan, and participates in all things conservative.
