Well "Luka" may have been a hit in the Pop culture but her song "Tom's Diner" was a huge club hit in both black and white clubs. That songs packs the dance floor even today.
Give this girl her props!

Most of the music that the 80's offered was still artist-identifiable....nowadays, anyone can get a song on the radio, lip-synching their way to stardom....did we forget Madonna or REM or Public Enemy? They all had something to say in a new, great style at the time....and are still going strong....anyone agree?

I agree with RBZ, and DO NOT think that he has an identity crisis, or the like. He merely pointed out the obvious - why on earth is this thread titled "Like Oh My God, Where Are Those '80s Artists Now?" The title implies that 1) there were no popular non-white 80s artists in the 1980s worth mentioning, and 2) the author displays a "white is right" mentality by ignoring the enormously talented, and arguably MORE talented ,asian and latin american artists from this period. I would have no problem with this article if it was titled what it actually discusses, like: "Like Oh My God, Where Are Those Bland Caucasian 80s Artists Now?" OR "Like Oh My God, I'm Biased So I'm Only Going To Discuss White 80s Artists"

RN19ER, It's Indivisible, not invisible. It means cannot be divided, as in we're one whole, strong country. As a side note, the whole "Under God" business was not part of the original Pledge of Allegiance. That little bit of catastrophe wasn't added until the 50's to countermand those Godless Commies.

Well RBZ wizdom I have to tell you that you truthfully sound like an idiot. I to have a masters degree, Im a fireman, a paramedic, Ive been in the service (not two, the marines liked me so much they wouldnt let me leave) I also have a degree in fire sciences, Im a fire marshal, I am the oldest of 25 children which 13 are from africa, korea, and russia. Ya know what none of that means spit about my opinion. My opinion is my own it matters not how I derived it. You need to realize that not everyone needed to have an inventory of your personal wall of glory. It certainly does not make you any smarter than the next person....obviously.

First of all, when making a comment you all should have intelligence and enough education to respect each other. What's up with the race and the "master degree" person. like that makes you smart. I know a lot of people with master degrees that are morons, rude and despicable. Just becuase you have a college degree does not make a good person. As far as race goes noone is better than anybody. We are all supposed to get along and talk to each other with respect. This is "supposed" to be a country invisible under God with justice for ALL? Remember that? The only thing I do agree is this, the music of the 70' and 80's is a lot better than the rap and metal music don't forget about the devil's music. So, please make constructive commnets and try not to offend people. This is just a forum and rules of ethic and conduct should apply here too. Right, Mr.master degree?
