Matthew McConaughey: Mottos, Habits, and Fears
We gotta be honest: We don't get Matthew McConaughey. Liked him in "Dazed and Confused." Loved "Contact" in spite of him. And we thought that "EdTV" was better when it was released a year earlier as "The Truman Show."
Still, we did a little digging and have a newfound admiration for the guy. He works just enough to support a traveling, freewheeling lifestyle, he runs around half-naked a lot, and he seems to have a grand old time wherever the wind takes him. That's something to be admired. So in honor of his latest movie, "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," which tells the story of a laid-back commitment-phobe (hmmm), we thought we'd share some surprising facts about Matthew McConaughey.

Chopergirl said "I have always loved her. She has been a very good part of entertainment - I remember when she was in Roots. AND then CHEERS, and then the talking babies with John Travolta. My gosh, we all have problems, and with those come stress eating at times...She is beautiful regardless of what she weighs, and not only physically beautiful, but also beautiful inside. She has had her heart broke just like the rest of us, and struggles like the rest of us....to bad people expect her to be perfect as that is what imperfect people like to see - someone perfect to make them feel better. Projecting their OWN disappointment onto others, in some sick way, makes them feel a little better. That is a terrible post about her. I will watch her show."
Sardonica said "How is she anymore a train wreck than ANY body else, celebrity or not? We all have our issues. She is at least trying to better herself, not trash those around her, or laugh at the misfortunes of others. You're as bad as Perez. YOU are the one that needs to get a life, not her. "
ratt said "Don't the people who read this crap have anything at all better to worry about? Is it REALLY any of your concern what this movie star or that musician is up to in their personal lives? Did any of you useless tabloid bottom feeding twats notice that I used the word PERSONAL? Not likely, because the people that read this stuff don't think anyone has a life that they can't have access to. A word for those who have nothing better to do than concern themselves about others in the spotlight... pathetic."

It is nice to see someone from Hollywood who seems so truly unaffected. He just does his own thing, the way he wants to and enjoys life. We should all be so lucky. I don't believe it's phony, he is really a laid back, stress free individual who finds the best in everything and everyone. May he live long and may he teach his son, Levi, that it is better to laugh, love and j.k. livin!

He may not be the best role model or the ideal man beyond his looks, but he is a down-to-earth good guy. It is unfortunate that he does not use his popularity for the greater good more often.
He is doing good through his organization and would love to see him promote other groups, programs and issues. He has a voice people recognize, a lifestyle many envy and a look that turns heads.
Despite what some may think he is a fixture in our culture and his choices will continue to shock, surprise and make us smile.
Wish him and his family only the best.

He is the one of most gorgeous men alive. Having said that, his personality does nothing for me... it's like he tries too hard to come across like he doesn't need to try too hard. But he is sweet on the eyes.

I met Mathew while he was in Rio de Janeiro. He visited a local Irish pub to watch a Longhorns game. Had a chance to chat with him, and he was a very personable guy. No false attitudes or airs; just a regular Joe there to watch the game & have a couple of brews.

For someone who has "passable looks" and is such a "bad actor"...hmmm..it looks like it's Matthew that is getting the last laugh when it comes to cashing the check at the bank for doing such a poor job!
Honestly, he's the epitome of what all guys want to be. A grown up kid that can get away with doing what they want for as long as they want.
Don't be jealous that he can do the things that you want to do, or that he is able to make BIG dollars. He shows a conscious when it is absolutely necessary, and he is NOT your role model. He is an actor that portrays the romantic roles that depict the man that women can only dream about.
Sigh. It is only a dream when you know that a guy like that could be real, AND tameable. Such is life. Good luck to Matthew and his family. I wish he was MY neighbor and dancing in the NUDE!

Ya know what S*cks. That the good looking guys aren't marriage material. Instant gratification comes easily to them and it is easily replaced with similar sensations when one source disperses into the atmosphere.
The down side for them is that they often die young or become seriously depressed later in life, after they lose their looks and no one wants them because they haven't experienced the true meaning of life. They should look a little deeper into their choices and consider the long term consequences of the choices they make today.
My advice: Make a bunch of money, don't spend it, and then drop out of the lime light and do some soul searching.
