Acting is a privilege ... going to movies or theater is a choice. To win an audition or get a nod from a director/casting director, can determine how the actor will succeed ... or fall on their face. It matters not if the actor is a "famous" offspring, or someone clawing through all the mire ... perseverance is the key.

I have to agree with Flutterby_Cowgirl. Kate Hudson is a great actress. Her "How to Get Rid of a Guy in Ten Days" and "Raising Helen" are among my favorite movies. She is very believable. Isn't that part of what makes a good actor/actress? She is entertaining. Isn't that what most of us are looking for when we watch a movie?

I am so glad you people don't have real jobs where you have to make everyday decisions and take on leaderships roles. You are stupid and need to pull your head out of your ass. Did you even bother to watch "My bestfriends girlfriend" "Fools Gold" "You, Me, and Dupree" or "The Skeleton Key". Kate was wonderful in those movies. Just because she did not win any awards for them does not mean she is not a good actress. It is hard to beat movies such as "Brokeback Mountain" that are being judged by liberal democratic jackasses who are going to give awards for not good acting and story lines but because they are "revolutionary". I don't own Brokeback Mountain but I watch Fools Gold atleast once a week. Why? Because Fools Gold is a well thought out and researched movie about a piece of Americas history with alot of comedy. Brokeback Mountain is a cross between 8 Seconds and Too Wong Foo... it was not unique, it had overdramatic bad acting and was very stereotypical.

Don't forget Jennifer Aniston, Matthew, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kate Winslet, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rashida Jones, Joely and Natasha Richardson, Keira Knightley, Robert Downey Jr, Mariska Hargitay, Sean Astin, DREW BARRYMORE, the Bridges brothers, Jake Busey, Miley Cyrus, et cetera ad nauseum. The list goes on and on. Some prove to have talent, some don't. Either way, I don't think any of them would be where they are today without that little thing called, nepotism.

Are you kidding me with some of these choices ? Why no mention of Mamie Gummer ? Not only is mamie a very talented actress, but her mother is only THE GREATEST actress in the history of cinema. How could you ignore meryl Streep's daughter ????

Some movies should just be left untouched.... The Karate Kid is one of them... Smiths ego is so big he thinks he could turn anything into a hit...
