Helen Mirren Kicks Into High Gear
Helen Mirren got the ultimate career boost when, at age 61, she won her first Academy Award, for "The Queen." And while most women her age are using their AARP cards to get their senior discount at the matinee, Helen Mirren is making more movies than starlets half her age. She has four films due in 2009, including the recently released "State of Play" and the upcoming "Love Ranch."

Old women dye their hair blue or pink because gray hair usually has a nasty yellow tint to it (not everyone gets that lovely shade of silver), and it's supposed to counteract it.
Also, I think Sophia Lorens make up makes her look 15 years older, not younger. It's way too much, and poorly done, at least in this picture. And when was the last time visible lip liner was cool?
