I Love Chrissie Hynde!
Chrissie Hynde was my first rock crush. I remember her more than I remember my first date. She introduced me to all that was cool and unruly about rock 'n' roll. I confess that I love her still.
Chrissie was all sensuality and swagger. You knew she could kiss you sweet then kick your butt hard. Just the look of her on that first Pretenders album cover was enough to make a run to England to look for her. Even though I knew I'd never have a chance. Chrissie Hynde was the first woman in rock who was really in control. All those '60s geezers had to settle for Janis Joplin. Yeah, she could sing, but she wasn't in control. That was actually her thing — being totally out of control.
But Chrissie was the opposite. She was too good for the '80s. She used words and phrases like "precious," "spanked," and "message of love." She wanted to love you AND she wanted to hurt you because she loved you. My kind of woman.
All these years later, I still keep Chrissie with me. Amidst all the boardroom-created divas and self-conscious fake femme fatales, she remains a breath of fresh rock air. The Pretenders vinyl is long gone, but she continues to sound just as good whispering "Precious" through my ear buds.
Who was YOUR first rock crush?

Trent Reznor was my first rock crush, but that all changed when QOTSA came onto the scene. Josh Homme is so dreamy!!! They don't call him the Ginger Elvis for nothing... man can he swing those hips.... yummmy!

This one is very easy for most guys my age. In the movies it has to be Phoebe Cates in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Her red bikini showed most of us pre-pubescent boys that there were girls on this planet and that we should put down our Atari controllers and pay attention.
My crush on a rockstar didn't come until much later. Growing up in the era of all male groups singing sex ballads, there weren't really any hot girls in music until Gwen Stefani came along.

INXS drummer Jon Farriss. He was definitely the cutest of all the Farriss brothers and way sexier than lead singer Michael Hutchence, R.I.P.

tough call in choosing a celebrity crush in rock, but I am going to go dark...Siouxsie Sioux. Back then, rock was not about sex appeal it was about...Rock!
movies were much sexier and in movies I got to go with raquel welch, 3 musketeers (1974)....she didn't sing....but she looked great in the renaissance gear. Faye Dunnaway was damn sexy in that movie too. Got to love the bottice designed by Yvonne Blake.
